Do you know what I hate when friends tell me they are getting married? It is not having to dress up in a suit (although I dislike that almost as much), it is not the boring service, and it isn’t having to go hours without smoking. It is buying a wedding present.
I hate buying presents because I absolutely suck at buying the right thing. If I do manage to buy someone a gift they like then they are in trouble because I will buy the same thing for them every birthday and Christmas.
A friend of mine hit on a good idea when she got married. Instead of people buying presents for their home she asked them to buy things for the wedding itself. I wish more people would ask for wedding accessories.
